served as State Representative 1855-1861, Commissioned Army
Officer 1863, participated in the Battle of Chickamaugua and
Hundred Day Atlanta Campaign, returned to Legislature 1873,
Speaker of the House of Representatives 1881-1882.
BURIAL:Georgetown Cemetery, Grayson County, Texas.
