Note: Willis and his nephew Robert Brents Priestley went to New
Mexico in 1908 to homestead 160 acres of land. After a failed
attempt, they returned to Tennessee. According to Jimmy
Priestley, the evidence of their homesteading attempt could
still be seen in 1998.

Note: Never Married. He lived with his sister at the old home place
until his sister died. Edwin then moved in with Clarence
Reeves, son of Hiram Wyatt Reeves. About 1943 while feeding
cattle, he was knocked down by the cattle and broke his hip on
fencing pliers he had in his back pocket. From that day, he
was confined in Owsler's clinic in Humboldt and in a nursing
home in Trenton bedfast from his 83rd year.

Note: William Reeves lived his declining years in DeKalb County,
Georgia with his son James White Reeves. One tradition says he
is buried in Charleston, S.C., but that is not certain. He
married Nettie White whose mother was a Durham. He was in
military service during the American Revolution in Pr.
Wm.,Co.,Militia of Virginia. He applied for and received a
pension at age 77. His children are listed in his pension
application. After the war he moved from Virginia to South
Carolina, but was with his son in Georgia when he applied for
the pension.
BURIAL:Nancy Creek Cemetery near Atlanta, Georgia. According
to information from Dr. James E. Kay received in April 1991.
